1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored by a browser on your device. They help a website remember a preference, keep a session stable or understand broad usage patterns. Drelvon uses a restrained approach and does not use cookies to build personal profiles for advertising sales.

2. Session cookies

Session values support basic page operation and usually expire when the browser closes. They do not contain readable personal details. Blocking them may affect navigation or form behaviour.

3. Preference cookies

Preference values may remember a reader’s choice for up to 12 months (for example, whether the cookie notice was acknowledged). They exist to avoid asking the same question on every page load. A reader can clear them through browser controls at any time.

4. Analytics and measurement

If optional measurement is enabled, analytics values may remain for up to 13 months. They are used in aggregate to understand which editorial pages are useful and how visitors navigate the site. They are not required to read articles.

5. Cookie names and lifespans

Where the site uses a consent banner, the preference record may be stored as drelvon_cookie_consent for up to 12 months. A temporary session value may be identified as drelvon_session and ends when the browser closes. If optional analytics is enabled, an analytics provider may use names such as _ga and _ga_* for up to 13 months.

• Essential session values: support page operation and do not require optional consent.
• Preference values: remember a choice so the banner is not repeatedly shown.
• Analytics values: optional and can be refused without blocking article access.

6. Consent and your choices

Optional values are set only after a reader makes a choice. Refusing optional cookies does not block ordinary reading. The consent record is retained for up to 12 months to respect the decision.

7. Browser controls

Every major browser provides controls for viewing, deleting and blocking cookies. Settings vary by browser and device. Clearing values may reset previously selected preferences.

8. Third-party services and transfers

The contact page may include Google Maps to show the Bradford office, and optional measurement may involve an analytics provider. Loading an embedded service can allow that provider to receive technical information such as an IP address, browser details and the page address under its own privacy terms.

9. Retention and security

Cookie lifespans are limited to the periods described above. Server logs connected with web requests are generally retained for up to 90 days. We periodically review whether stored values remain necessary.
